‘Wonderful attraction’ is crowned the UK’s top destination

Tripadvisor’s latest ranking has found the UK’s top-rated attractions and the winning entry is a royal-themed day out.

The review platform also looked at the best experiences in the UK and elsewhere to create a bucket list for globetrotters.

Tripadvisor found the best attraction in the world was Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia which took the top spot for the second year running.

Rome’s Colosseum was second on the list while the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam rounded off the top three.

Dubai’s Fountain and the Empire State Building also made the top five but where topped the list in the UK?

Royal Yacht Britannia topped the rankings as the UK’s number one attraction according to Tripadvisor.

A trip to the Royal Yacht gives tourists the chance to find out what life was like during Royal service onboard Queen Elizabeth II’s former floating palace.

A tourist ‘Mark B’ wrote: “A wonderful attraction and a memorable one of our wonderful Queen. It was fascinating to see how the Royal Family spent many happy hours touring the world.”

Edinburgh’s National Museum of Scotland, castle and The Real Mary King’s Close also made the top 10.

London also dominated the list with the National Gallery, Tower of London, British Museum and Tower Bridge in the rankings.
