A woman from Illinois died Thursday in a fall in Rocky Mountain National Park.
The 21-year-old victim died after falling into Adams Falls, according to a news release. Adams Falls is located on the East Inlet Trail in the west side of the park. The falls is at 8,474 feet in elevation.
Grand County emergency officials assisted park staff in recovery efforts and the body’s transfer to the Grand County Coroner. The woman’s name was not released pending notification of family.
Park officials urge visitors to be aware that water bank lines can be extremely slippery, especially during the spring runoff. Water at this time of year is extremely cold, swift and deceivingly deep.
