Although many British expats move abroad after retiring, some Britons choose to move for a job. However, this can present a challenge for expats who need to relocate with their family.
A new study from the expat experts at PropertyGuides.com has found the best country in the world to raise a family and luckily it’s also a fantastic destination for expats.
The study looked at the number of green spaces, the average monthly nursery fees, the number of hospital beds, education funding, maternity leave and cost of living to find the best country for families.

Germany topped the list as the best place to raise a family as an expat. The country has plenty of green spaces and cheap nursery fees.
Munich, a city in Germany’s southern Bavaria region, is home to one of Europe’s largest urban parks and has also been named one of the continent’s most walkable cities.
German cities are also generally known for cleanliness and safety, very important factors for any young expat families.
Sweden came second on the list and is renowned for its excellent social care system. It also has affordable nursery fees and a high amount of maternity leave.
Luxembourg took third place. Despite being a small country, there’s a lot of green space and its public transport system is totally free to use.
