With lockdown restrictions currently in place across Sydney, Australia’s largest city, until August 28, the ITV-hit show is returning to Wales. The reality show filmed their 20th series at the 19th century castle near Abergele in the midst of a UK lockdown in late 2020.

Hosts Ant and Dec will host live from the Grade I listed building as celebs battle out to stay in camp to be crowned King or Queen.

Blogger and TV presenter Giovanna Fletcher is the current reigning champion, with the 2021 line-up yet to be announced.

But while viewers wait to see who will face bushtucker trials, last-minute UK accommodation sites, Snaptrip and Big Cottages, have got fans covered for a quick getaway to other historic sites.

Here is a list of places you can book a stay, fit for any castle lover without enduring any bushtucker trials.

Ayrshire Castle

Originally constructed in the fifteenth century as a wedding present for Princess Mary, eldest daughter of James II of Scotland, 600 years later Ayrshire Castle is now available to stay in.

Ghost Hunters have been drawn to this Scottish site, with paranormal activity being reported by guests during their stay.

Decked out in it’s finest tartan, the castle comes decorated with classic and rustic features – and a spine-chilling additions of a ‘murder hole’ and pit prison.

The ‘murder hole’ was once used to pour hot oil over unwelcomed visitors to the castle, and the pit prison can be found behind a flagstone trap door… but the question is, will you be shouting ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!’?

Langton Castle

If you truly want to recreate the ‘I’m A Celeb’ experience then Langton Castle is the perfect place.

Located in the Scottish Borders in Duns, this castle has been owned by the same family for over 600 years, meaning it’s period features have been lovingly restored for you to enjoy.

Up to 26 guests can stay at Langtons at a time, plenty of room for you and your fellow campmates to relax.

Surrounded by woodland and a round house dated back to the Iron Ages, this will get I’m a Celeb fans feeling they are part of the show.

Braidwood Castle

Another Scottish location, Braidwood Castle has a very intimate feel around its restored tower, sleeping up to five guests around the one and half acres of countryside.

Originally built in 1581, this South Lanarkshire historic site has now been restored with modern features, whilst keeping its rich history alive.

Take a walk to the nearby orchard or head down the River Clyde with a walk directly from the tower doors before heading back to warm up in front of the fire.

Fern Forest House

Just under a two hour drive from Dumfries, Fern Forest House offers a modern take on a period staycation with on trend furnishings for added luxury and comfort.

Found in Dunskey’s 2000-acre private estate, you’ll be guaranteed to spot wildlife from the large bay windows such as deers, wild birds, pheasants and foxes.

The open fire offers a nod to the estate’s origins as the house was the humble abode of the Head Gardener.

Don’t forget to go and explore the beautiful Scottish outdoors with three beaches, two lochs, waterfalls and a private woodland maze.
