- Spanning three decks, the Oceandiva London ship can carry up to 1,500 guests standing and 600 seated
- It’s said the new CO2-neutral vessel will be the ‘largest floating events space’ on the River Thames
- Renderings show the ship, which has a dance floor and a bar, cruising past major London landmarks
A striking new superyacht that’s due to set sail on the River Thames, hosting ‘lavish weddings and private cocktail parties’, has been unveiled.
Renderings of the £25million ship show it will have a stylish bar area, a spot-lit dance floor with a stage, and will cruise past some of London’s most iconic landmarks, such as Tower Bridge and the Houses of Parliament.
Launching in autumn 2022, the ‘Oceandiva London’ vessel promises to be the ‘largest floating events space’ on the Thames, measuring 282ft (86m) in length and 55ft (17m) in breadth.

Aside from nuptials and cocktail soirees, it’s proposed that the ship – ideal for a ‘discerning party host [who is] keen to wow their guests’ – will host ‘glamourous high-profile events for private and corporate celebrations, fashion and film shoots, launches, milestone birthdays, and cultural celebrations’.
Partygoers can climb aboard the ship at six different docking points in the city – Butler’s Wharf, London Bridge, Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, Greenwich and Royal Victoria Dock.
Spanning across three decks, Oceandiva London can carry up to 1,500 guests standing and 600 seated, with guests flitting between the ‘al fresco’ deck space and the ship’s interior once it sets in motion.

And revellers won’t go hungry.
The vessel, which promises to ‘revolutionise the luxury events and hospitality sector’, will be catered by Moving Venue, which creates menus in Kensington Palace and the Victoria and Albert Museum, in collaboration with Last Supper, a luxury catering company that counts high-end names like Gucci, Sotheby’s and Mont Blanc among its clients.
Menus will revolve around ‘local and seasonal’ ingredients.
Finger food will range from ‘perfectly curated’ canapes like treacle-cured salmon with caviar to ‘substantial and satisfying “mini-meals”’ in bowls, such as steak tartare with chips, cured egg, and mustard.
And for sit down dinners, guests might dine on a main course of short rib served with sweet potato and parmesan, followed by mango, lime and coconut tart for dessert.

To wash it all down, the venue has recruited ‘London’s leading mixologists’ to create the bar’s drinks menu, with tailored beverage offerings available for each event.
One of the defining factors of the vessel is that it’s CO2-neutral, meaning the CO2 released into the atmosphere by the ship will be balanced by the same amount being taken from the atmosphere. It will be powered by two Lithium battery packs that are charged by a green power connection on the shore, as well as by solar panels, according to a statement.
The swish new party venue has been designed by Oceandiva, a Dutch company that already operates similar ships in The Netherlands and Germany. The British events company Smart Group, working in collaboration with Oceandiva, will own, manage and operate Oceandiva London.

It’s said that Oceandiva London will ‘raise the bar for luxury venues for private celebrations’ in the city
Edwin Petersen, CEO of Oceandiva, said: ‘We have had great success in the Netherlands and Germany so we are incredibly excited to launch our first concept in London which we believe will be the hottest venue in the capital for the most lavish celebrations.
‘London is undeniably one of the most attractive cities for overseas visitors and we are looking forward to hosting extraordinary celebrations on board.’
And Greg Lawson, the CEO of Smart Group commented: ‘We are excited to bring a stylish new events space to London, one that raises the bar for luxury venues for private celebrations.
‘Traditionally the Mayfair hotel ballrooms have dominated this area of hospitality and Oceandiva London will provide an entirely unique alternative for the more discerning party host keen to wow their guests.’
