Mum says she bagged five-star holiday for £1.40 and you can too

A clever bargain-hunter shared her glee after bagging a seven-night holiday to Cyprus for just £1.40.

Mum Joanna Liburd snagged the trip – which cost less than a bag of chips – as part of Jet2’s Bid for a Break campaign.

The tour operator lets Brits submit bids for holidays around Europe – and Joanna ended up with a five-star week away.

She said: “I can’t wait for our holiday to Cyprus. I’m even more excited knowing I secured it for just £1.40!

"We had just come back from our holiday with Jet2holidays to Gran Canaria and fancied a bit more sunshine, so I decided to enter!

"My choice of bid was centred around my son who has recently turned 14, I can’t believe it paid off – we’re so excited for our trip to Cyprus.”

The mum and her son will jet off to The Royal Apollonia – and even the flights are included.

And, the holiday isn’t the only deal to be had.

You can bid for trips too by downloading the Jet2 app.

Then decide the price you want to pay and place a bid – if you turn out to be the only bidder to submit that price and it’s the lowest offered then you’ll get the trip.

Bids open at 9am on Mondays with different locations available until Thursday at midday.

Winners will be announced that day.

Destinations include British hotspots like Greece, Turkey and Spain.

And, if you’re not a winner you’ll still get a £60 off code to use on the Jet2 site towards another holiday.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Congratulations to Joanna for successfully bidding for a holiday with Jet2holidays through our ‘Bid for a Break’ campaign.

"The much sought-after campaign proved extremely popular last year, so we are delighted to see it return and have no doubt that it will once again be a huge hit."
