Disney’s ‘Frozen Ever After’ ride at Walt Disney World Epcot

A mother has described her family holiday to Disney as “robbery in broad daylight” after she confessed to spending £3000 in one day at the park.

Summer Reigh Henning is a mother of three who made a TikTok video breaking down her holiday expenses on her second day at Disney World as part of a five-day holiday.

To begin, Summer explained that her tickets into the park and a “lightning lane” guaranteed shorter queuing times on rides, and this cost her $870 (£716). She also first bought her children Mickey House headbands to wear, which cost $130 (£107).

Summer then added that her family began the day with “a mediocre Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine” which cost her $223 (£184). In the video clip, Summer showed a buffet breakfast station which showed a selection of pastries and fruit as well as a typical fry-up selection of eggs, sausages and bacon.

Summer also showed her children posing with Goofy, and said in the video comment section it was a character breakfast, at a highly popular event in which Dinsey characters would come up to tables and pose for photographs.

Next, it was time for the rides, which Summer said did not meet her expectations. She said: “Then we headed over to Toy Story Land and, even with the lightening lane, we still only got to ride the one ride.”

Summer and her children then stopped for some ice cream which cost $223 (£184) and popcorn which cost $16 (£13).

The family then spent some time at Galaxy’s Edge, which is the Star War part of Disney World, and Summer explained she spent a “whopping” $800 (£658) on lightsabers for her children.

Summer explained that this did not also include shipping, which cost $40 (£33). She said: “They also no longer hold them for you until the end of the day plus different airlines have different restrictions when flying home so we opted to ship them to us for an additional cost.”

Summer then explained her children only got to go on one Star Wars ride as “every single ride” had 120-minute wait signs so Summer decided to treat her children to some iconic blue and green milk which appears in the Star Wars films for $27 (£22. )

They then had lunch which cost $80 (£66) and some funeral cakes for dessert which cost $44 (£36). Summer also bought her children some lollipops and candyfloss while on their day out for $25 (£21).

In order to get some holiday photographs of her children on the rides, Summer said: “A photo pass was an extra $170 (£140) for cell-phone-quality pictures.”

Summer said that the day ended with the family having dinner at Planet Hollywood, which cost $311 (£256) and then the family went to their hotel room.

She said: “Factoring in our nightly hotel rate of $997 (£820) brings our total to $3,758 (£3,092) for today.”

In Summer’s video comment section, many people were shocked at the pricy holiday, but some people were conflicted about the holiday cost was Disney too expensive or if Summer spent too much money.

One user commented: “Soooo many mistakes in the planning. No reason to spend on food like that.”

Another person said: “You spend $250 per lightsaber? I can’t feel bad if you’re willing to do that.”

Someone else wrote: “For that price, I could go on a month’s vacation to Tenerife.”

However, some users were on Summer’s side, as one commentator wrote: “We went last year! A family of four and we spent close to eight thousand for five day!”

Summer replied to the user: “It’s insane! People can’t seem to grasp the concept that it’s overly expensive no matter what.”
