Missing trips to Disney theme parks during the pandemic? You’ll be pleased to know you don’t have to wait long to experience the magic again.
Even though Brits aren’t advised to go on holiday at the moment, there’s plenty of fun planned for the summer.
Brand-new Disney Magic at Sea “staycation” cruises are scheduled to set sail from UK ports this summer.
Perfect for families, they include exciting entertainment options, pools, waterslides and kids clubs.
Children will also enjoy interaction with their favourite characters – including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Queen Elsa and Marvel superheroes.
There’s plenty for parents to do too – from fine-dining to cocktails or days spent at the tranquil pool and spa.
To make customers feel safe on board, there will be coronavirus testing and health screenings.
Ships will be sailing at reduced capacity and social distancing measures will also be in place.
Thomas Mazloum, president of Disney Cruise Line, said: "Our teams are bringing tremendous ingenuity and fun to these new cruises, tailoring them with care to the times we are living in, yet filling them with everything you'd expect from Disney, from great service and entertainment to immersive dining experiences and magic for the whole family.”
Customers have the option of travelling for two to four nights from bases in London Tilbury, Newcastle, Liverpool and Southampton.
Booking isn’t available yet but is expected to open in April 2021 depending on UK government guidelines.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, travelling for fun isn't permitted at the moment.
Brits trying to leave the country without a reasonable excuse could face huge fines from next week – with holidays banned.
In England, you must have a permitted reason to travel abroad and complete the declaration form.
These rules are thought to be in place until June 30, which is the same time lockdown restrictions are expected to lift.
