Cunard’s new star-studded Canaries cruise is ridiculously dreamy

A new cruise sailing to the Canary Islands this October has everything you could want for a dream holiday including star-studded entertainment, beautiful destinations, and heaps of glamorous onboard amenities.

Imagine Cruising’s 14-night Ultimate Cunard Canaries Sailcation will offer trips to Madeira, the Canaries, mainland Spain and Portugal, as well as boasting appearances from the likes of West End star Michael Ball and TV icon Eamonn Holmes.

The cruise takes place on Cunard’s luxurious Queen Elizabeth, meaning passengers can also expect elegant restaurants, luxurious staterooms and suites, and heaps more brilliant entertainment.

We take a look at some of the cruise’s best highlights not to miss…

1. Enjoy exclusive performances from West End star Michael Ball

The double Olivier award-winner will be treating passengers to exclusive performances throughout the sailing. He’s been hard at work during lockdown, using the time to write and produce his latest album ‘We Are More Than One’.

2. Celebrate all things ABBA with Björn Again

The light-hearted parody pop group Björn Again will be performing some of ABBA’s biggest hits. Created back in 1988, the show continues to be a hit and so far has counted over 5,300 performances.

3. Learn the secrets of television from Eamonn Holmes

The This Morning star will be taking part in an exclusive ‘Audience With’ interview where he will be talking about his life and career, and sharing the secrets of what it’s really like to work on daytime television.

4. Listen to Paul Potts’ dulcet tones

The very first winner of Britain’s Got Talent is still getting to live his dream and sing to audiences around the world, counting nearly 1,000 performances so far. In October, the Welsh-residing tenor will take to the stage onboard Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth for a number of special performances.

5. Escape the cold autumn weather

Ditch the rainy British season in favour of the year-round sunshine to be found in the likes of Madeira’s Funchal, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Spain’s Cadiz and Portugal’s Lisbon. There’s ample opportunity to do some exploring at each location, including an overnight stay on the ship in Funchal.

6. Step back in time to the 1920s at a glamorous ball

Cunard’s cruises boast plenty of brilliant events, but the gala balls never fail to wow holidaymakers. Expect themes from the Roaring Twenties to Masquerades so you can dig out the glad rags – and then it’s time to dance the night away to music played by an eight-piece orchestra.

7. Tuck into some delicious meals

There’s something for all taste buds on board whether it’s the fine steak and seafood at The Verandah, an indulgent afternoon tea in the Queens Rooms, or even some classic British pub grub in the Golden Lion.
