If you’re heading abroad for Christmas, there may be new travel restrictions you need to be aware of. Many countries have updated their entry requirements for Britons in the wake of rapidly rising Omicron cases. Here are 25 of the countries with extra restrictions for Britons, as well as those banning British travellers entirely.

As Omicron spreads at alarming rates throughout the UK, many people’s Winter travel plans are being hit by tougher restrictions.

For those heading overseas for the holidays, whether to get some Winter sun or to be reunited with family, you must make sure to check the rules of your destination regularly as the situation can change very quickly.

France has taken a strict approach, closing borders to all tourists regardless of vaccination status and is only allowing entry for those with an “essential reason” to travel.

Due to the rising number of cases of Omicron in the UK, a growing number of countries are putting extra restrictions on British travellers, and some are banning Britons entirely.

Make sure you check the rules of your destination on the GOV.UK site, and if you’re unsure, check again with your travel provider who will be able to answer any questions you have.
