Located just over two hours away by air from the UK is the beautiful capital city of Tuscany, Florence.

It is an incredibly popular spot for visitors to Florence, with Tripadvisor user Richard M commenting: “The bridge is just stunning. It is covered in shops, most of them selling jewellery. The bridge is gorgeous and a great place for some incredible pictures.”
Just a mere two minute stroll away from the Ponte Vecchio is the Uffizi Gallery, home to countless priceless pieces from notable artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Botticelli.
Regarded as one of the best and most-visited museums in the world, the 16th century building itself is a work of art.
Tripadvisor user Cherylcat said: “To see DaVinci, Michelangelo, Botticelli and others up close cannot be described—it’s magical,” before adding, “this is a must see on any Florence visit. Wait till you see the red room.”

Less than a minute’s walk away from the Uffizi Gallery is the Piazza della Signoria, the city’s main square.
Populated with interesting and beautifully crafted statues as well as the impressive Fountain of Neptune, the Piazza della Signoria is: “close to perfection,” according to Tripadvisor user Samuel Armbrust.
Six minutes may seem like a long walk compared to the extreme proximity of Florence’s other iconic attractions, but that’s how long it will take to wander from the Piazza della Signoria to the gorgeous Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore.
Proudly watching over Florence, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is the third largest church in the world and has stood tall since its structural completion in 1436.
Instantly recognisable by its orange bricked “superdome”, or duomo, the symbol of the city is free to enter – with the top of the dome providing spectacular views over Florence.
Upon exiting the cathedral, you will find yourself on the Piazza del Duomo in less than 20 seconds.
Another stunning square in the city, the Piazza del Duomo is a lively and vibrant location featuring some of Florence’s most important buildings, whilst offering visitors a chance to grab a bite to eat, a drink, or most importantly – gelato.
