Those travellers looking for a relaxing seaside spot to enjoy breathtaking sunsets during a staycation will want to visit one of UK’s dreamiest beaches. But which one is the best? A recent study has revealed Wales as the location with the most photogenic beach in the country.
A new study conducted by money.co.uk has revealed Tenby North Beach in Pembrokeshire (Wales) is the most beautiful beach in the UK.
The research analysed how many snaps captured in those places had been shared on Instagram per metre of sand in order to determine which one is more photogenic.
It compared over 26 million Instagram hashtags based on photos on the social platform to find the most picturesque spot.
In fact, and due to its popularity on social media, Tenby North Beach made it into the World’s Top Ten Most Photogenic Beaches.
Although Tenby North Beach crowns the list in the UK, it is closely followed by Margate Beach, in Kent, and Durdle Door, in Dorset – some very popular seaside spots.
According to the worldwide ranking, Kelingking Beach in Bali is the world’s most picturesque beach, but beautiful Tenby North Beach comes seventh on the global list.
Tenby North Beach
Tenby North Beach is considered “a slice of Welsh paradise.”
Surrounded by pastel-coloured houses and magnificent cliffs, the beach is the perfect spot to enjoy the Welsh sun on a summer day.
Margate Beach
Margate can get very crowded on a hot summer day but is a lovely seaside spot surrounded by colourful hunts and a charming town.
Durdle Door
Durdle Door is a very famous landmark in the UK and one of the most shared beaches on Instagram.
The natural arch formation is usually compared to Nusa Penida Beach, in Bali.
The remote location won’t offer a lot of entertainment, but tranquillity will be found if that’s what you are after.
Brighton Beach
Holidaymakers will enjoy nearly four miles of pebble beach in Brighton, being the pier the most iconic and photographed spot.
The beach offers lots of restaurants, entertainment and even an arcade on the pier.
Daymer Beach
Located in North Cornwall, the sandy beach features beautiful dunes and amazing views across the Camel Estuary.
With its outstanding beauty, it is considered the UK’s fifth most photogenic beach.
