Swiss International Air Lines will operate its first flights with a premium economy cabin next April. The seats are now bookable.

The carrier plans to add the new premium economy cabin to its dozen Boeing 777-300ERs. Swiss said all 12 of the retrofits will be completed by the start of summer 2022 schedules. The cabin class will join Swiss’ existing first-class, business-class and economy cabins.

Premium economy will be available on U.S. flights. Swiss flies the Boeing 777-300 to Miami, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Swiss’ premium economy seats will feature 39 inches of space between rows, compared with 31 inches in economy. Other features of the seat are a fold-out leg rest, a 15.6-inch seatback entertainment screen and seats that are approximately 2 inches wider than economy seats. Premium economy customers will also receive enhanced meal service.

Compared with economy, Swiss said customers will pay $270 to $380 more one-way for premium economy seats.
