Sugar Beach in St. Lucia will reopen after upgrades

Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort in Soufriere, St. Lucia, will reopen Nov. 1 following a five-month closure for extensive renovations and upgrades.

Set to debut are nine new luxury accommodations, upgraded culinary outlets, a beachside fitness facility, a refreshed spa and a new main pool area.

“Those visiting in November can expect to see Sugar Beach completely revived,” said Mark Sterner, the general manager. “Every aspect of the renovation has been designed to provide a new level of service, privacy and hospitality to our valued guests.”

New accommodations, dining and pool area

Catering to the demand for private accommodations, the new offerings include four one-bedroom beachfront bungalows right on the shoreline and five one-bedroom cottages built further up the mountain.

Covered outdoor seating areas will enable guests to dine beachside no matter the weather.

Luxury cabanas and a poolside bar where guests can order light bites and drinks will flank the main pool area, near a special events lawn that can accommodate private celebrations and functions.

The resort’s Rainforest Spa will add one couples’ treehouse treatment room built on stilts high above the foliage.

Other enhancements include a wellness facility on the beach that will include a gym and yoga studio.
