Rosewood Hotels & Resorts is taking bookings for its Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort, which is on track to open July 1 on the Big Island of Hawaii this summer.

The 81-acre property is a conversion of the former Kona Village resort, which closed in 2011 due to tsunami damage. 

Rosewood announced in 2019 that it had been tapped to operate the property, after real estate investment firm Kennedy Wilson detailed plans to rebuild and relaunch the resort.

It will be Rosewood’s first property in Hawaii.  

The Kona Village, a Rosewood Resort, will make its debut with 150 bungalow-style accommodations, which will draw inspiration from traditional Hawaiian “hale” structures.

The site will also be home to five dining concepts, including the original resort’s Shipwreck Bar and Talk Story Bar. Other amenities will include an Asaya Spa, a fitness center and an onsite cultural center.
