As of Nov. 1, Puebla has a new luxury hotel in town. Formerly the Azul Talavera Hotel, the now-Banyan Tree Puebla marks the beginning of a series of openings under the Banyan Tree name.
The hotel features the Banyan Tree Spa as well as an Italian restaurant, Trattoria Cello, and Banyan Tree’s signature Thai restaurant, Saffron. The restaurant sits on the rooftop terrace and has views of the city church, bell towers and the five volcanoes that can be seen from Puebla.
The Banyan Tree Puebla has 78 residential-style rooms. Additional services include the Bar Los Lavaderos, inspired by a 19th-century wash house, and features cocktails and tapas. Guests can sign up for culinary experiences, like mole making, guided mezcal and tequila tastings and wine tastings.
The Banyan Tree Puebla joins the Banyan Tree Mayakoba, Banyan Tree Cabo Marques and the Hacienda Xcanatun as the other Banyan Tree properties in Mexico. To come will be the Banyan Tree Valle de Guadalupe Resort, Spa and Winery and the Banyan Tree El Cielo.
