The W Rome, the brand’s first flag in Italy, marked its grand opening Dec. 6.
The 162-room hotel, which spans two adjacent 19th-century palazzos, is located on the Via Liguria next to the Spanish Steps.
The property is owned by King Street Capital Management, a global alternative investment firm, with development manager Omnam Investment Group and Italian asset management firm Kryalos SGR.
Guestrooms and suites offer open-plan living spaces, floor-to-ceiling windows and marble bathrooms, and some feature private balconies and terraces.
Designed by Meyer Davis, the decor features an eclectic mix of colorful leather furniture, a hand-painted mural, and black-and-gray marble. Highlights include Parlapiano, a secret garden inspired by one of Borromini’s churches featuring traditional Italian stone complete with foliage, topiary and water fountains.
Dining options are overseen by Michelin-star chef Ciccio Sultano and pastry chef Fabrizio Fiorani and include everything from fine dining to street food.
