Ethiopian Airlines adding Atlanta service

Ethiopian Airlines will begin flying an Addis Ababa-Atlanta route four times weekly on May 16.

The flights will be operated on a 315-seat Boeing 787-9 with 30 seats in business class and 285 in economy.

Atlanta-bound flights will leave Addis Ababa at 10 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, will make a stopover in Dublin, and arrive at Hartsfield Airport at 9 a.m. the next morning. Addis-bound flights depart from Atlanta at 10:35 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays and arrive in Ethiopia at 07:50 a.m. the following morning.

“Ethiopian Airlines’ new service to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is yet another win for our city as we continue to develop and expand our air service to Africa,” said Atlanta mayor Andre Dickens. “As we celebrate the new connection of the rich and dynamic cities of Atlanta and Addis Ababa, we look forward to a strong and successful partnership with our new partners in Ethiopia.”
