Riviera River Cruises will add a third ship in Portugal in 2024 as demand grows for Douro sailings.
The new Porto Mirante will sail 10 departures of the new eight-day Highlights of the Douro Valley and Salamanca River Cruise from July through October next year.
It will join the Douro Elegance and Douro Splendor, both of which sail Riviera’s sole Douro itinerary, the eight-day Douro, Porto and Salamanca River Cruise.
The new itinerary will sail roundtrip from Porto and includes a guided tour of Porto’s Old Town, a visit to Quinta da Pacheca with dinner and a selection of its wines, a visit to the 12th-century walled village of Castelo Rodrigo as well as a tour of Salamanca, Spain, with a traditional flamenco show over lunch.
The Porto Mirante will feature 59-cabins and will be able to accommodate 118 guests. The ship will feature an atrium bar and lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows, a restaurant, a fitness center, as well as a sundeck with a sky lounge, bar and splash pool.
Prices for Highlights of the Douro Valley and Salamanca River Cruise start at $2,849 per person, double occupancy. As with all of Riviera’s 2024 itineraries, guests will automatically get the Superior Drinks package included.
