American Queen Voyages will add a new port of call for Great Lakes cruises this year.
The cruise line will stop in Escanaba, Mich., during some Ocean Navigator and Ocean Voyager itineraries.
Itineraries that visit the Delta County port city on Lake Michigan will offer hop-on and hop-off tours to the local shopping district, visits to art galleries and museums such as the Webster Marble “Inventing the Outdoors” museum, and a visit featuring a cultural educational session on Native American stories and values with the Woodland Sky Native American Dance Company.
Fishing enthusiasts can have a fresh-catch dining experience. Guests also can visit parks and lighthouses, go on forest hikes and bike rides, and kayak the Bays de Noc.
The announcement of the new Michigan port is part of the company’s 2023 plans to add lesser traveled destinations in North America.
