There are plenty of holiday parks in the UK – they’re one of the more popular ways to enjoy a staycation. There are budget options like Butlin’s and Pontins and more expensive forest resorts like Center Parcs.
Families love the resorts because you don’t have to deal with the stress of a flight, but there’s still plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. Now, the UK’s best holiday park has been named by Which? and the good news is that it's all-inclusive.
The consumer choice company looked at 18 parks across cleanliness, accommodation, facilities, customer service, entertainment, food and drink and value for money. It found that while costs per night can vary value for money wasn’t always awarded to the cheapest park.

Potters Resorts, in Essex and Norfolk, took first place and although it was one of the pricier options it seems customers were happy to pay for the superior services, thanks to the overall value for money
The holiday park was rated five out of five for both cleanliness and quality of accommodation. There are two parks in the country and an average night cost £72 – and the resort bagged an 88% customer score.
Potters has been in the game for over 100 years and claims to be the first-ever holiday park. It also offers all-inclusive bookings which is unusual for a park.
At Potters Resorts' Hopton-on-Sea or Five Lakes locations you can get a weekend break which includes four meals a day, accommodation ranging from bungalows to hotel rooms, access to sports and leisure facilities and even "West End quality" entertainment.
With the all-inclusive option your drinks are included too – from beer and wine to liqueurs, hot drinks and soft drinks. That’s not something that is often offered at parks which generally only offer self-catering or access to restaurants.
The parks are also praised for their selection of activities. Outdoor options include Archery, air pistols, disc golf and air rifle shooting. You can go boarding on the lake or race go-karts.
Giant Jenga or Giant Connect 4 are fun for the family in the sunshine and there’s also a golf course. If the weather turns gloomy then inside there’s lots of pub games like pool and darts.
There are also dance classes and racquet sports, an indoor pool, sauna, craft workshops, shuffleboard and new age curling. An indoor whirlpool and gym kitted out with with treadmills, bikes, cross trainers and rowers is also open to all.
If you’re looking to relax then the spa offers a number of treatments too. Families who want to leave the park can hit up local beauty spots like Colchester Castle, Blackwater Estruary Nature Reserve and Tiptoe heath.
When it comes to evening entertainment you won’t miss out on a great show. Potters offers performers, artists, singers and comedians.
The website states: "With a huge investment in the development of entertainment venues at Potters Resorts Five Lakes, we will have you laughing until it hurts, tapping your feet to the beat and dancing all night long. Plus, you'll get to enjoy Lights, Camera, Action!, which is exclusive to Five Lakes.
"Day and night our team are here to entertain, whether it’s comedy and quizzes with our entertainers, or singing and dancing featuring some of our very talented performers. We have designed our entertainment to complement your holiday, allowing you to relax to the perfect background music or sit down and be entranced, watching our brilliant performers entertain you live."
