Brits going on holiday often use the safe in their hotel rooms to keep items like money and jewellery safe.
But, not everyone trusts the old safes with their most sentimental items like rings.
And, it’s handy to keep emergency cash in a separate place in case the worst should happen.

So, the director of a booking platform has suggested an alternative way of keeping small valuables safe while away.
Toni Raurich, from eBooking.com, explained that one of the best ways to keep valuables safe is to carry around empty shampoo bottles, reports the Express.
The travel expert said: “Leaving valuables in the hotel is not always the safest option, especially if the hotel is of a very low category.
“For this reason, it is highly recommended to hide things inside the room itself, with the aim of not leaving all our money in sight or things of value.”
They added that there are lots of “surprising places to hide valuables in a hotel room when you travel" like "a shampoo bottle".
Toni continued: "One of the most common travel tips is to hide money or jewellery in an empty shampoo bottle.
"In the same way, inside the suitcase itself, you can have hidden pockets where it is possible to hide larger objects."
The expert commented that the “classic options” included under the mattress or – if not fragile – in the middle of the mattress.
That way it can’t be quickly grabbed if anyone goes rummaging in the room.
Toni also suggested putting money or documents in a newspaper, box or in an envelope stuck to the bottom of a chair.
They said: "Likewise, it is advisable that the money is distributed in different hiding places, to avoid everything being in the same place.”
Just make sure the housekeepers won’t accidentally throw away the item you’re keeping your cash in!
