If you find yourself as a guest at The Goring hotel you may end up dining next to a very special resident – a Shetland pony.
The posh London venue offered guests a chance to dine alongside Teddy, a gorgeous shetland pony with an impressive social media following.
The Goring is already renowned for being the only UK hotel to have been granted a Royal Warrant by the Queen for its hospitality services. But now potential guests have another reason to book a weekend here.
Currently staying in the Beeston Place venue’s garden, visitors can meet Teddy, who is the venue’s summertime ‘pony in residence’.
Belonging to CEO Jeremy Goring’s cousins, Alice and Molly Goring, Teddy is actually a Goring family member.
Jeremy told 2Chill: “Teddy is our most famous family member and his residency is creating enormous excitement here.
“Chef Richard, Fernanda our head housekeeper, and all of the team are busily preparing his favourite home comforts.”
Visitors to the hotel can also enjoy some ‘comforts’ of their own, with a range of Teddy-themed offerings available, including an extra special equestrian afternoon tea.
This limited edition option includes cakes shaped like ponies and horseshoes, mini apple crumble tarts, and even Teddy’s favourite carrot cake.
It can be enjoyed either on the outdoor terrace or on picnic rugs in the garden, both of which are close to Teddy’s purpose-built luxury garden stable.
Those in search of something a little harder can also try out the ‘Trottini’ – a bright orange cocktail adorned with a mini carrot that’s described as ‘Teddy’s favourite cocktail’ – at the hotel's onsite bar.
A video shared to Teddy’s own Instagram sheds further light on the fun experiences on offer. It shows him in his monogrammed stable, as well as roaming around The Goring and neighbouring streets like Buckingham Palace Road, searching for pats and snacks.
The Goring’s afternoon teas run Monday to Friday from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, and from 1.30pm to 4.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
While Teddy was only at the venue till August 31st, fans can keep track of his movements via his social media.
