Lewis Capaldi serenades passengers with new song midway through flight

Holidaymakers were gobsmacked this week after superstar Lewis Capaldi treated them to a rendition of his new single.

The famously down-to-earth Scottish singer busted out his guitar and belted out a verse to the unreleased 'Wish You The Best'.

Lewis was on a British Airways flight at 35,000ft in the air when he performed for stunned passengers, reports GlasgowLive.

He sang the words "it seems Glasgow gets further from LA" while travellers watched on from their seats.

But, it wasn’t just random holidaymakers on board the special flight as four Lewis super-fans had also been invited onto the flight from Heathrow.

They had no idea they’d get a free live performance by their favourite artist along with a first-listen of the new track.

We’re sure they were screaming in their seats at the surprise concert on-board.

Lewis recently shot straight to the top of the UK singles charts with his comeback single 'Forget Me', while his latest single 'Pointless' became his fourth UK number 1.

Netflix is also releasing a new documentary about the superstar next month.

'Lewis Capaldi: How I'm Feeling Now' offers a behind-the-scenes insight into his life on and off the stage.

The singer’s new album 'Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent' is out on May 15.

It brought a moment of light relief for the airline, which has been forced to cancel hundreds of flights in coming weeks.

Around 32 flights a day have been taken off the timetable by the airline ahead of a 10-day strike by 1,400 Heathrow security workers, which has included limits on passenger numbers at the airport.

Unfortunately, with the strike due to take place from March 31 until April 9 it’s likely that those jetting off for Easter may be affected.
