Research from End of Tenancy Cleaning analysed Instagram data to find the prettiest staycation destinations in the UK. The winner was described as a “gem”.

Salcombe in Devon was ranked the prettiest destination in the UK with over 300,000 Instagram hashtags.
The beautiful town is packed with tourists in the summer but is generally quieter during the winter season.
A spokesperson for the research said: “To locals and visitors alike, it’s no surprise that Salcombe places first.
“With its picturesque harbour, abundance of independent shops, and surrounding countryside, Salcombe is perfectly placed to offer something for everyone.
“Whether you’re browsing paintings by local artists at one of the town’s galleries, tasting gin at a distillery or admiring the vista from Hope Cove or the harbour itself on a boat tour, you’ll be spoilt for choice by this South Devon gem.”
The second prettiest spot was located in Scotland, a chilly but beautiful destination for an autumn staycation.
Oban in western Scotland is the perfect staycation choice for wildlife lovers with plenty of chances for animal spotting.
The spokesperson said: “In second place is Oban, this beautiful West Scottish seaside town is ideal for those hoping to spot some of the UKs most elusive wildlife.
“You might be lucky enough to see basking sharks, dolphins, or even whales on one of the town’s ocean safari boat tours!
“Or if you’re lacking sea legs and don’t mind heights, an aerial tour of the town and surrounding landscape provides not only spectacular views but also trips to the nearby islands of Tiree or Coll.”
It’s possible to spot porpoises and dolphins all year round off the coast of Oban while Minke whales can be seen from May to September.
Tourists could also spot otters, basking sharks and seals in the stunning Scottish seaside town.
Buxton in Derbyshire ranked third and is located right on the edge of the popular Peak District.
The spokesperson said: “This thermal spa town hosts a multitude of independent cafes, restaurants, bars, and even an opera house.
“And for those wishing to brave the chill and venture into the stunning Peak District countryside, nearby Poole’s Cavern with its ancient limestone formations is well worth the trip.”
North Yorkshire had two destinations make the list with both Malton and Ripon judged to be among the prettiest spots in the UK.
