There are dozens of party towns in Europe that cater to those who want to dance, drink and enjoy great music. From Sunny Beach, in Bulgaria, to Ibiza, in Spain, and even Lagos, in sunny Portugal, there’s something for everyone.
One of the cheapest places to buy a pint that we’ve come across is Belgrade, in Serbia. Serbia is a landlocked country near Romania and Bulgaria – but it’s been named one of the underrated party destinations in Europe.
Lonely Planet once named Belgrade the number one party city in the world while MyLondon claims that it’s just as good as Amsterdam and Berlin for a city break – not to mention it's previously been named one of Europe's cheapest cities to visit.

According to Pint Prices, you can buy a pint of beer for an average cost of just £1 in Belgrade – and if you plan to venture to other cities in the nation during your holiday then you can find one for the tiny price of just 24p a pint in Lebane.
But, for the best nightlife we’d recommend sticking to Belgrade for your night out. Every night of the week, clubs buzz with party-goers, offering all kinds of music to dance to.
In the winter, there are 'winter clubs' indoors but in the summer season, there are incredible ‘floating' clubs on the riverbank so you can dance outdoors. Hundreds of rafts fill the river every summer and become restaurants, bars and clubs.
Such rafts are reportedly known as "splavs" and each one has its own vibe and music. Some play folk music and let you go for a dip in the river, others play alternative music, rock, or pop music – and each splav has a personality all of its own.
Some of the splavs available this summer include Club 20/44 named the "best night club in Europe" on one Google review. While there’s also the River Open Air nightclub that lets you stare up at the sky as you dance.
Pub and bar crawls alongside packages offering both entry and dinks are available on the splavs and for the indoor clubs too. In June each year there’s even a Belgrade Beer fest which features four days of beer, musical performances and partying and is a popular reason for many to visit the city.
Temperatures in Belgrade right now are as high as 34C so you’ll definitely get some sun to soak up. Plus it’s not just on drinks that you’ll save money…
The cheapest private room we found to rent on booking.com was the Guest House Mirikevski Konak which came with a twin room for £18 a night or just £9 each. There’s also a double room at the B&B Stadion from £19 for two and plenty of cheap hostels available for those willing to share a dorm.
Flights aren't too pricy either. You can bag return flights from the UK to Belgrade from £34 per person with Wizz Air, or you can fly with Air Serbia from Heathrow in less than three hours
According to Hikers Bay, July 2023 prices in Belgrade are cheap when it comes to food too. Its research shows that a cheap meal for one can cost an average of £7.30. While a three-course meal for two would set you back about £29.
On top of the clubs, bars and food there's also lots of rich history to explore in the city. It's known for its Beogradska Tvrđava, an impressive fortress and historical landmark which you can enter for free and wander around as well as the St Sava Temple.
There’s also the Tesla Museum which holds the famous inventor’s ashes. The Runic Church is lit by chandeliers which are bizarrely made entirely of weapons.
Plus, there’s a statue of a famous dog who rescued a young child from a tiger. Strange, but definitely interesting!
