Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific has restructured its economy fare into three levels — Light, Essential and Flex — for flights departing from markets other than Hong Kong.
The carrier began rolling out the new fares by region last September, officially launching for U.S. and Canadian departures on Feb. 8.
The Light level includes one piece of checked luggage. Customers can pay for additional luggage as well as seat pre-selection after the booking is made.
The Essential level allows for two checked bags, free seat pre-selection and the option to upgrade using Cathay’s Asia Miles loyalty program.
The Flex level adds free seat pre-selection for extra legroom, free flight changes and free same-day changes for earlier flights.
All three categories allow for one piece of carry-on baggage and the ability to earn Marco Polo Club points and Asia Miles.
