Air Canada will begin servicing New York JFK Airport from Toronto and Montreal in March.

The twice-daily Toronto-JFK flights and daily Montreal-JFK flights launch March 26. They’ll augment existing robust Air Canada service from Toronto and Montreal to LaGuardia and Newark airports. This month Air Canada has scheduled 116 frequencies from Montreal to LaGuardia and 167 trips from Montreal to Newark, according to Cirium flight schedule data. From Toronto, Air Canada is slated to fly 212 frequencies to LaGuardia and 340 to Newark.

Air Canada will compete on Montreal-JFK with Delta and will take-on Delta, American and Canada’s Flair Airlines on Toronto-JFK.

The carrier will operate the routes using 76-seat Embraer E175 regional aircraft configured with business class and economy cabins.

Sacramento service

Air Canada also announced plans for a third new U.S. route for next summer, Toronto-Sacramento.

Air Canada’s Toronto-Sacramento service will begin on June 1. The service will be operated four times a week on Airbus A220-300 aircraft featuring business and economy cabins.  Air Canada will be the lone airline on the route.
Those three new routes are part of a broader build-up of U.S. service that Air Canada has planned for next summer as it continues to restore its network post-pandemic.

The carrier will also resume service on 11 routes between May 1 and June 17 and increase frequency relative to summer 2022 on 14 others.

Overall, Air Canada will operate more than 400 daily flights to the U.S next summer on 95 routes to 47 destinations, it said.
