Marriott properties in the Caribbean and Latin America are welcoming and supporting the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month with a host of activities that include the Longest Virtual Pride Parade, Rainbow Dates and splashing their hotel facades in rainbow colors.
“Marriott International has long been a champion for diversity, equity and inclusion and our commitment to the cause is stronger than ever,” said Brian King, president for the Caribbean and Latin American region. “We believe in a warm welcome for all.”
This month, 12 properties in seven markets across the region are lit up with rainbow colors and have recorded celebratory videos for the virtual parade that spans the Caribbean, Mexico and South America.
Rainbow Dates is a promotion that offers discounted rates at participating properties when booked by June 30 for travel through Sept. 6, 2021, using the promo code ZJL.
Results of the 2021 LGBTQ+ Post Covid-19 travel survey, conducted by the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association with support from the IGLTA Foundation, revealed that the desire of LGBTQ+ consumers to travel post-pandemic is strong, with 73% of respondents planning to take a major vacation before the end of 2021. Fifty-eight percent reported that they are very likely to stay at a hotel or resort.
