The Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios has introduced a Farm to Skin foraging experience that enables guests to forage for natural ingredients in its tropical gardens that can be used to create spa products for treatments at the resort’s Ocean Spa.
Some of the ingredients guests can gather are papaya, coconut, pineapple, lemongrass, rosemary and aloe vera. According to the resort, papaya is used to improve elasticity and treat eczema and psoriasis; pineapple encourages collagen production, controls excess oil and helps to fade scars and age spots. Lemongrass is a detoxifier and is used by the practitioners to refine the appearance of pores as well as brighten and smooth skin. Coffee is used to reduce the appearance of cellulite and tighten the skin during body treatments and treat dark circles and tired eyes during facials.
After gathering ingredients, guests will be given a hands-on demonstration on how to make the products, which include Pina Colada Body Scrub.
Rates start from $544.50 per night per couple, including breakfast and taxes. Guests participating in the spa foraging experience will be offered 15% off spa treatments. Treatments include facials, massages and body treatments, along with private or group yoga classes.
