A Waikiki tradition for more than 30 years, the Friday night fireworks at the Hilton Hawaiian Village will restart at 8 p.m. on June 3 and will continue on a weekly basis. The popular attraction, which can be viewed from the Hilton Hawaiian Village as well as many other places in Waikiki, had been on a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19 restrictions.
“We’re ecstatic to announce the restart of our Friday night fireworks,” said Debi Bishop, managing director of Hilton Hawaiian Village, in a press release. “Over the years, the fireworks have become a beloved tradition among visitors and kamaaina (Hawaii residents), drawing many to the South Shore to kick off the weekend with the fireworks show. We’re glad that our guests and the wider community will once again be able to enjoy the weekly show.”
The Hilton Hawaiian Village fireworks show originated in 1988 to celebrate the completion of the resort’s $100 million Return to Paradise master plan, and the show has been happening nearly every week ever since.
