Silversea Cruises named Joe Leon head of sales in the Americas, moving him up from his position as vice president of field sales.
Leon will assume the sales duties held by Mark Conroy, Silversea’s managing director of the Americas, who will transition into a senior advisor role in support of the cruise line’s sales team. Conroy had been overseeing reservations and sales activities in the U.S., Canada and Latin America.
Leon, who has more than 29 years of travel industry experience, joined Silversea from Regent Seven Seas in December 2016, the same year as Conroy. At Regent Seven Seas, Leon had been working in business development and travel agency sales since 2008.
Prior to that, Leon worked at a variety of travel agencies over a decade.
Conroy’s senior advisor role will support the cruise line’s sales team, and both he and Leon will report to Massimo Brancaleoni, Silversea’s senior vice president of global sales.
