Norwegian Cruise Line is scrapping another Norwegian Escape cruise as it works to repair the 4,226-passenger ship after it got stuck on a channel bed leaving the Dominican Republic last week.
“Repairs to Norwegian Escape will take longer than anticipated,” said a cruise line spokesman. “As a result, the cruise scheduled to embark on March 26 has been canceled. We’re optimistic the issue will be resolved shortly, and we will resume normal operations on April 2. We apologize to our guests for the inconvenience this may have caused. We value their patience and understanding.”
After getting stuck, NCL cut short the Escape’s voyage along with a March 19 departure from Florida’s Port Canaveral. NCL reported “minor damage” to the hull.
