The U.S. Coast Guard has issued a No Sail Order for the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, forcing Margaritaville to cancel the ship’s July 13 sailing to the Bahamas.
“During the ship’s annual exam, Port State Control officers identified conditions, which required the ship to stay in port until rectified due to the safety of the crew and passengers. The ship will not sail until the conditions are rectified,” the Coast Guard told WPTV news in West Palm Beach.
Margaritaville at Sea CEO Oneil Khosa said the cruise line is “expeditiously” undertaking corrective actions to “quickly address the flagged items and continue sailing on schedule.”
The cruise line did not respond to questions about nature of the flagged items that warranted the order.
The line does not anticipate additional impact to its itineraries other than the cancellation of the July 13 sailing. Guests disembarked and received compensation for the inconvenience, Khosa said.
The cruise ship was scheduled to sail a two-night cruise to the Bahamas out of West Palm Beach on Wednesday.
