Emerald Cruises is extending its season on the Douro River with the addition of two more departures this fall.
The new departure dates for the eight-day Secrets of the Douro itinerary aboard the 56-cabin Emerald Radiance will be Nov. 18 and 25.
The line is providing additional opportunities to experience Portugal’s famed Douro Valley, a Unesco World Heritage Site, and its miles of hillsides covered in vineyards.
Tours on the Secrets of the Douro itinerary include a visit to the 18th century Quinta do Tedo vineyards, where guests will learn about the estate’s traditional methods of cultivating and harvesting grapes; a visit to the town of Regua, an important winemaking town in Portugal; and a dinner experience in the rural wine estate of Quinta da Pachecha.
Guests who book Douro River sailings by June 30 will receive two-for-one fares, with pricing starting at $4,195 per person based on double occupancy for the Nov. 18 and 25 departures. Guests who pay in full within 30 days of booking will receive free economy or premium economy air, or up to $3,000 per cabin in savings, depending on cabin category booked.
