Carnival Cruise Line is bumping San Juan from 21 sailings on the Mardi Gras.
The ship, the largest in Carnival’s fleet, will instead call in Nassau.
“We’ve refined our operational plans and made some itinerary adjustments to Eastern Caribbean itineraries for Mardi Gras. We continue to offer several other itineraries which include stops in San Juan,” the cruise line said in a statement.
Carnival declined an interview request for further details about why it was pulling San Juan from the ship’s itineraries. The change affects 21 seven-day Eastern Caribbean sailings, according to Cruise Hive, including one that departs on New Year’s Eve, 14 sailings in 2023 and six sailings in 2024.
The Mardi Gras will continue sailing to San Juan on other Eastern Caribbean itineraries.
