The Waldorf Astoria Cancun has opened. It is the Hilton-owned luxury brand’s first hotel in the Mexican Caribbean.
The oceanfront property, located 19 miles south of Cancun’s Hotel Zone, is located on the same campus as the 715-room Hilton Cancun, an All-Inclusive Resort, which opened last year.
Accommodations at the 173-room Waldorf Astoria Cancun offer private balconies with soaking tubs, while nine of the guestrooms and one suite feature swim-up patios with direct access to a private outdoor swimming pool.
At the top tier of suite options, the resort’s oceanfront one-bedroom presidential suite features a dining area with seating for ten, a pool table, a library and screening room, multiple balconies and two plunge pools.
Five food and beverage outlets are on property, including Peacock Alley Lounge, a venue modeled after the famous New York City original. Malpeque is a seafood-centric restaurant anchored by an open-flame grill. Also on offer are all-day brasserie concept Chaya, traditional Mexican eatery Ja’o and a pool bar serving cocktails, pressed juices and light, healthy-conscious fare.
The 40,000-square-foot Waldorf Astoria Spa houses 21 indoor and outdoor treatment rooms, a salon, a sauna, a thermal area, an outdoor spa pool and garden, and relaxation lounges.
The Waldorf Astoria Cancun’s meeting and event venues are shared with the neighboring Hilton Cancun. The sister properties have joint access to 68,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, including a main and junior ballroom and 12 meeting areas.
Although the Waldorf Astoria Cancun is the brand’s first property in the Mexican Caribbean, it is the flag’s second in Mexico, joining the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal.
