Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts is making all-inclusive dining optional at two of its Dominican Republic resorts.
Bahia is adding bed-and-breakfast and half-board packages at the Bahia Principe Grand Cayacoa and Bahia Principe Grand Samana.
The dining plans will roll out at the 295-room Grand Cayacoa in November, then debut at the adults-only, 149-room Grand Samana in December. The half-board option at both properties will include breakfast and dinner.
According to Bahia Principe, the move is part of the group’s efforts to align with “guests’ desire to engage authentically with their destinations during their stays.” The company cited a 2023 study by American Express indicating that 85% of travelers “prefer destinations where they can authentically experience local culture,” and that 78% of travelers are interested “contributing to and supporting local communities while on their trips.”
A growing number of all-inclusive resorts are tapping into demand for off-property dining and experiences.
