And, one of our favourite things to do in the lead up to Christmas is head to Kew Gardens to see the Christmas tree.
The stunning botanical gardens of Kew Wakehurst in Haywards Heath hosts the UK’s tallest Christmas tree – which you can see from November.
Those looking to get into the spirit can get stuck into a gorgeous winter lantern trail, dubbed Glow Wild, through the Sussex countryside on your way to see the tree.
Kew will use 1,800 energy-saving bulbs to light up a giant redwood tree – an evergreen that can reach over 300 feet tall.
You’ll feel like a Who in Whoville staring up at its magically lit up branches.
Glow Wild also lets you walk through the wild botanic garden and spot 11 spellbinding installations and 1,000 handmade paper lanterns.
The Kew Gardens website states: "As darkness falls, the gardens are brought to life with beautifully hand-crafted lanterns and captivating light installations created by leading artists.
"This year, Glow Wild celebrates the spectrum of colours in nature, inviting you to explore how we see colour and the role it plays in our daily lives."
You’ll certainly feel warm and fuzzy inside even if you have to wear a coat on the outside!
At the end of the route there are colourful animal and plant installations and food and drink of course.
The trail is open for visitors from Wednesday November 23 until New Year’s Day.
Tickets cost £17 per adult (£14 if you're a Wakehurst/Kew Member) and £11 per child aged four to 16.
Family tickets are available for £53 (£46 if you're a member) – and kids under four go free.
The team at Kew Gardens said: "Further new offers for Glow Wild 2022 include adults-only sessions, perfect for a heart-warming date night, or a fun evening out with friends.
“Every Friday night at 8pm, tickets will be reserved solely for visitors over 18yrs, offering a quieter experience for those looking for an enchanting outdoor experience."
