As the dark and dreary days of winter slowly draw to a close, people are starting to make their summer holiday plans.

Staycations have grown in popularity over the years, primarily thanks to the pandemic, as Buyagiftreported a whopping +248% increase in bookings of their top glamping getaway experience in 2021 compared to 2019.

For those looking for something a little more unusual to experience this year, here are the best weird and wonderful options available.

Hobbit Hut, Hobbit Hideaway or Hobbit Hole

Location: Fowey, Cornwall

The Hobbit Hut, Hobbit Hideaway or Hobbit Hole self-catered accommodation in Cornwall is any Lord of the Rings fans dream come true.

With a TripAdvisor Hall of Fame Certificate of Excellence, Acorn Camping and Glamping are set in the World Heritage Site of Luxulyan Valley, surrounded by untouched woodland for you to explore.

If you choose to stay in a Hobbit Hut or Hobbit Hole, you will be given a generous starter pack with two small camping stoves and everything you need to cook and wash up. The Hobbit Hideaway also includes cooking and washing up utensils.

The 11-square-metre Hobbit Huts are nestled in a beautiful natural setting, while the Hobbit Holes are set in their own glade with stunning views. They can be reached via a picturesque pathway and you can use a wheelbarrow to transport your belongings.
