A beautiful cathedral town nestled in the south west of England has been named as one of the most affordable places to go on a night out.
With a population of just over 18,000 at the last census and just a stone’s throw away from the coast, the beautiful city of Truro boasts stunning architecture and has rolling beaches nearby. Cornwall’s county town was once a bustling port in the 14th century before it played a key role in the iron and tanning industry.
Its rich history is evident today with its striking cathedral towering above the the city skyline. Many visitors feel as though the city feels a lot like Bath in nearby Somerset.
Now online casino Luck.com has named Truro as the number most affordable city for a night out in Britain. It has examined features like the number of bars and clubs, the number of pubs, average cost of a pint and takeaway, and how safe visitors feel.

Truro is said to have the equivalent of 196 pubs per 100,000 people with a pint costing £4 – compared to a national average of around £4.57. Visitors to Truro also said they felt safe when walking around the city, scoring it 83 out of 100.
The second best city for a night out was ranked as Lichfield in Staffordshire. Another cathedral city it boasts stunning parks and museums.
It was deemed to have the most pubs per 100,000 people from the best cities – with an equivalent of 435 pubs per 100,000. The average price of a pint was also £4.
Coming in at third was Wrexham in Wales. While the city may now be best known for its famous football club owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mcelhenney, it also has a rich history when it comes to lager, being home to Wrexham Lager since 1881.

Wrexham – the newest city on the list having been a town until 2022 – had the cheapest pint from the cities surveyed, averaging at just £2. However, it was ranked 50 out of 100 when it came to how safe visitors felt when walking alone at night.
