An Airbnb owner has revealed the weirdest things she's found in her rental home after people have stayed over – she guesses that over £800 worth of stuff has been abandoned at her home. Sofia Kaiser inherited the property after a relative passed away and gave it a makeover before popping it on Airbnb so others can visit the area.
The 25-year-old owner updated the interior and repainted before posting the house, which sleeps a whopping 13 guests and is located in Fort Worth, Texas, in the United States, online. However, it seems that alongside hosting visitors, Sofia was also left with mounds of items people left behind.
Sofia shared some of the things she has found in the home on TikTok, (@sopapilla89k), where one recent video has gathered over 4.9 million views. You might be surprised at how much the items are worth – she puts the total at around £800.

"We put our home up on Airbnb last February, after my grandfather passed away and my grandmother got ill meaning she had to be taken to a care facility," Sofia, who now makes a living off her Airbnb, explained. "I never want to sell the house because my grandfather built it!
"So we took over the mortgage and are now putting it out for rent on Airbnb. Soon, we noticed we were turning up to many items left behind."
Since renting out the home, Sofia estimates they have come across over $1,000 (£797.48), worth of abandoned property, including an Apple watch and food. One guest, who seemed to have planned for quite a party, left the fridge stocked with booze and pizza, as well as a beer pong set and jello shots.
Sofia says that she returns anything that seems of value and keeps un-opened food products to reduce waste. She's happy to eat anything left behind so long as it hasn't been touched or spoiled.
She said: “I personally have no problem when guests leave behind things that other guests would use! Unopened food, cool trays or decor, we just leave it behind in our pantry or back fridge and leave a note for the next guest that they are free to use anything in our home! I love that we aren’t being wasteful and provide guests with so much more than your typical Airbnb experience."
In a video clip, Sofia can be seen walking through the house as she shows the camera her finds from the most recent guests to stay over. Firstly, she comes across a lot of unopened snacks including biscuits, crisps and crackers – yum!
Then she looks in the fridge, where she finds it stocked full of beer, jello shots, spirits, pizza and fries in the freezer. The young woman also spots a pack of batteries, as well as a beer pong set and some necklaces.
The post was captioned: "What our guest left behind in our Airbnb! Our home host 13 people and we encourage get togethers!" So far, Sofia's video has racked up 548,000 likes, as well as 900 comments.
In the comments people were amazed at all the stuff abandoned at the home. Alannah said: "When I grow up I wanna be an Airbnb cleaner." Kelse commented that the food left behind was: "A whole grocery trip."
"Girl you hit the jackpot," wrote Bee while a woman named Rose joked that the food was a "tip".
Sofia added: "I want my grandfathers hard work to be shown off and enjoyed by families. Just how my large family was able to enjoy the house for many years! It’s been really nice to give back to Fort Worth and help people experience this part of town and have a great time. It’s been really nice seeing large families come in and get to be under one roof instead of multiple people in a hotel."
