Two Miami routes launch on Dec. 8, including four-times weekly service to the western Colombia city of Pereira and three-times weekly service to the eastern Colombia city of Bucaramanga. Twice-weekly service between Miami and Santa Marta, on Colombia’s Caribbean coast, is slated to begin Dec. 10.
Avianca will also launch New York JFK-Pereira service on Dec. 8, with two flights each way per week.
The carrier will compete against daily American Airlines flights on Miami-Pereira but will be the lone airline flying the other three routes, according to Cirium flight schedule data.
Avianca will operate the four routes with Airbus A320 aircraft.
