American Airlines has removed service between Seattle and London Heathrow from it schedule.
American had flown Seattle-London since March 2021, excluding a pause in summer 2022. This year the carrier operated the route through October and had plans to resume the service next spring.
The schedule change, which was observed over the weekend by the consultancy Ailevon Pacific, means that American has ended its brief trial of international service from Seattle.
American had also planned to launch flights between Seattle and Indian city Bangalore in 2020, leveraging what was at the time a new long-haul codeshare partnership with Seattle’s largest carrier, Alaska Airlines, as well as Alaska’s entry into the Oneworld alliance. But the pandemic scuttled those plans.
American said the decision to discontinue service between Seattle and London is part of its regular network evaluation. The carrier said that as part of the adjustment, it will add a second daily Heathrow flight from Miami.
American partner British Airways will continue to fly twice daily from Seattle to Heathrow, American also noted.
