Crystal Cruises canceled its Antigua and St. Maarten sailings on the Crystal Symphony and said it plans to redeploy the ship closer to the U.S.
Citing “uncertainty regarding ports of call and availability of adequate airlift,” Crystal canceled the entire season, which was to run through December.
“The recent positive developments of ships sailing from U.S. ports have prompted U.S. travelers to show an increased preference for more direct access to luxury cruise options, and we do plan to announce a new deployment for Crystal Symphony close to home later this week,” Crystal said on its website.
Crystal originally launched the 10-day sailings from Antigua only. It added St. Maarten as a departure port in an attempt to expand air options for guests from U.S. cities.
