‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach will light up in pink in honor of breast cancer awareness month. The resort will kick off a series of fundraising initiatives for Susan G. Komen Hawaii, which provides funding for breast health services, breast cancer education and outreach in the Hawaii region.

Seen from the beach to the streets of Waikiki, the exterior of the newly transformed property will glow in the symbolic pink color throughout October to show support of this important cause.

“As a board member of Susan G. Komen Hawaii, I have been privileged to see the incredible work they do to raise money to fight breast cancer,” said Cheryl Williams, Vice President Sales & Marketing, Highgate Hawaii. “’Alohilani is pleased to announce its commitment to this cause and we look forward to helping in their drive to prevent and cure this disease.”

To encourage guests and the local community to join the effort, ‘Alohilani has created a special “Think Pink” menu that includes delicious offerings, of which 10 percent of proceeds will benefit Susan G. Komen Hawaii. The “Think Pink” menu pops up at the resort’s iconic establishments:

—Swell will feature a delightful watermelon, arugula, feta and pistachio salad ($15) at the seascape infinity pool deck.

—O Bar, surrounded by the famed Oceanarium, will present a refreshing watermelon, cucumber mint juice ($9) by day and delectable pink macaroons ($15) by night.

Both restaurants will mix up a limited time “Pink Passion” tropical rum, passionfruit, and guava cocktail ($14).

Additionally, ‘Alohilani Resort, a proud sponsor of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Sunday, October 14th, will be participating with their own race team.
