UK beaches from Scotland to Cornwall prepare to ban dogs this summer

Summer is quickly approaching and wether you live near the beach or not we all love a good sunny seaside day out.

But you might not be able to take your pooch to your favourite beach this summer.

There’s nothing quite like setting up on the sand, dipping in the chilly British sea and enjoying a fish and chips on the prom.

It’s pure nostalgia – whether you choose to visit the UK’s best or worst beaches.

Plus, one of the great parts of a beach day out is that if you have a furry friend your pooch can spend the day with you.

Dogs love running around the beach, swimming in the sea and joining you for lunch in a sunny beer garden.

Unfortunately, some UK beaches are set to ban dogs this summer.

Councils will impose restrictions as visitor numbers increase and temperatures escalate meaning a number of beaches have limited 'dog-friendly' areas during this time.

Some of the beaches will not allow dogs from May 1 to September 30 while others are from July through to the end of August.

Many beaches ban dogs across the entire sand area while others are partial bans.

To give you a helping hand we've compiled a list of some of the beaches set to ban dogs this summer – check it out below.
