The big day itself is on March 19, and there are heaps of different cities on offer such as Edinburgh, Newcastle and York – or for those who prefer the seaside, Travelodge is also offering up cheap rooms at some of its major seaside and coastal locations.

For example, why not explore the beautiful coastline this summer with your mum and enjoy the warmer climate of the English Riviera in Torquay, the clear water and the pristine sands in Sandbanks, the iconic waves of Polzeath beach in Cornwall, or the calm and still of Hengistbury Head in Bournemouth?

The rooms are subject to availability – you can find out more and book at travelodge.co.uk.

The brand's price finder tool can also be a handy way of finding the cheapest prices for your chosen dates.

Over 200 of Travelodge's hotels feature an on-site restaurant called The Bar Café which offers a breakfast, dinner and bar menu service.

You can enjoy an unlimited hot buffet breakfast which starts from only £8.99 and for each paying adult two children under the age of 15 eat for free.

If you're looking for another great staycation option then holiday camps are a great way to save money and have a great time.

Haven offers “action packed holidays” with plenty to do for kids or adults from cover bands to the seaside.

Alternatively, stay in a real life Fawlty Towers at a Torquay B&B with a host to match your surroundings.

Or, head to some of the UK's best beaches with hidden gems from Cornwall to Yorkshire.
