This Man's Homemade Disney Light Show Is Almost as Good as Magic Kingdom's

A Texas man took their Disney obsession to the next level, taking viewers wonder by wonder with an over-the-top holiday light show that channels cult-favorite Disney movies.

The synchronized light display is timed to music and appears inspired by the "Happily Ever After" fireworks show at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, Good Morning America reported.

It starts with dazzling lights moving across the family’s tree in the front yard of their El Paso home as well as a projection on the garage set to music from the beloved Disney classics.

Rick Carrillo told the show that he first put up the lights on Dec. 1, unveiling them in front of a group of 40 or 50 family, friends and neighbors.

“I’m thankful that everybody seems to be really enjoying it,” Carrillo, a nurse from El Paso, told GMA, adding: “As a kid, we didn’t have a lot of money, and my dad was able to take us to Disneyland any chance he could, so we have a lot of memories with Disney shows … you just get this feeling that anything is possible, your dreams can come true.”

It took Carrillo 70 to 100 hours to make and edit the video on his computer, as well as three months to put up the lights. This was his second year in a row creating a display like this.

“It takes time to build something like this, and I think the results speak for themselves,” Carrillo told the show, adding he will keep the lights up until Jan. 6. “It’s going to be a lot of work, but we’re going to do our best to keep this going.”

The nearly 13-minute multi-colored show features clips from famous Disney movies like "Snow White," "Beauty and the Beast," and "Aladdin" and "Frozen," as well as tunes like "How Far I'll Go" from Moana and the music from Toy Story’s "You've Got a Friend in Me.”

The show ends with the lines from Disney’s own display: “Grab hold of your dreams and make them come true.”
