The Royal Family are known for travelling luxuriously across the world and the UK. Royal trains, private royal planes and chauffeured cars are just a few of the ways in which the Royals travel. Travellers who aren’t royal are probably used to airport lounges bustling with other people.

But this is reportedly not the case for the Royal Family.

The Windsor Suite is a lounge at Heathrow Airport in London that is reserved for the Royal Family and other VIPs.

Based at the UK’s largest airport, it is located in a secret location.

The secret lounge was detailed in a Channel 5 documentary called ‘Secrets of the Royal Flight’.

The documentary says that the private lounge is located behind a hidden door in Terminal Five.

Plush furnishings, a private butler, champagne, canapés and a selection of art can all be enjoyed in the suite.

Royal Commentator Emily Andrews previously described the suite as “posh”.

“It’s basically like a posh hotel lounge, where they just turn up about 40 minutes to an hour before if that.”

Head of Heathrow VIP Priya Malhotra has said: “Members from every royal family in the world have walked through our doors.”

Meghan Markle’s mother Doria Ragland reportedly used one of Heathrow’s VIP suites when she flew to the UK for her daughter’s wedding.

According to MyLondon, there are two suites: the Royal Suite and the Windsor Suite.

Guests using the service pay at least £3,300 for their time there which could range from a few hours to just minutes.

The Royal Family travel all around the world, with Queen Elizabeth II being the most travelled monarch of all time.

The Queen does not travel on scheduled flights but has taken chartered flights in the past.

She doesn’t need a passport to travel abroad either.

She has travelled to an impressive 117 countries which is the equivalent to travelling around the world 42 times.

The Queen does not fly abroad now due to her old age.

She mad her final trip overseas in 2015 to Malta.

The rest of the Royal Family do often fly commercial, often with British Airways.
